Connect to Local Area

Expand beyond North Missaukee into the broader ORV network.

One ride can connect multiple Northern Michigan trail systems.
From North Missaukee through West Higgins, the route extends your reach without backtracking.

Once you’ve experienced what North Missaukee has to offer, the West Higgins Route opens to longer loops with connections to additional trail systems east of the property. A single ride from WG Getaways can link multiple Northern Michigan ORV networks — extending your day from a short loop into a regional adventure.

The West Higgins corridor provides a natural bridge from the North Missaukee system toward the Houghton Lake area and further into the broader trail landscape. These are maintained, signed routes that connect without requiring highway travel.

The MI-DNR map below shows the West Higgins Route connection from the Moorestown area eastward. It links the North Missaukee system with additional riding toward the Higgins Lake region, giving you the option to extend your day into longer loops or connect into the broader state ORV network.

The corridor uses a combination of ORV-legal county roads and dedicated trail segments. You should always carry a current State of Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MI-DNR) ORV map and respect seasonal closures or conditions.
