Dial 911 for emergencies. Nearest hospital and urgent care locations will be available in the units.
Gas and Fuel
The closest gas station is Whipple’s, located 1.1 miles from our location. They offer gasoline, diesel and recreation fuel, but have limited hours. Other gas stations are located in Grayling, Houghton Lake or Lake City, all within a 25-30 minute drive.
Grocery and Supplies
There are local grocery stores and some big box stores located within a 25-30 minute drive. Grayling, Houghton Lake and Lake City all offer places to purchase food, beverages, and camping supplies. There are also local markets with seasonal produce and Michigan-made products. Whipple’s, located just around the corner, does offer some basic groceries and beverages, along with a small restaurant for freshly made items. Hardware and Outdoor Supplies
Local hardware stores and outdoor supply shops carry camping gear, fishing tackle, hunting licenses, and basic hardware needs. These are all located within a 25-30 minute drive to Grayling, Houghton Lake or Lake City. Local campfire wood can be purchased at some gas stations and is also available roadside from some residents. Pricing usually ranges from $5-$20 depending on the quantity purchased. Be prepared to pay cash if you opt to use the roadside option.
Weather and Conditions
Northern Michigan weather can change quickly. Check forecasts before heading out, especially for lake conditions, winter travel, and outdoor activities.
