Fishing in Northern Michigan
Cast a line in some of the best freshwater fishing in the Midwest. Northern Michigan’s lakes, rivers, and streams offer exceptional fishing for a wide variety of species throughout the year.
Nearby Lakes
Multiple lakes with public boat access are within a short drive and offer excellent fishing for bass, pike, walleye, panfish, and more. Although we are not fishermen ourselves, we have heard the following lakes are worth checking out: Lake Missaukee (Lake City); Lake Mitchell (Cadillac); Lake Cadillac (Cadillac) and Crooked Lake (Lake City). Higgins Lake and Houghton Lake are also nearby. Be sure to check out https://www.michigan.gov/dnr/things-to-do/boating for public launch locations and boating rules/regulations. You can also find places to fish and rules/regulations regarding fishing licenses at https://www.michigan.gov/dnr/things-to-do/fishing/where.
